"Capitoline she-wolf" (bronze, 500=401): The she-wolf, with its evocative power, is the symbol of Rome, and was brought to the Capitoline Hill by the donation of Sixtus IV (1471-1484). The sculpture, which originally had probably nothing to do with the legend of the city's foundation, can be traced back to Etruscan or Magna Graecia workshops of the fifth century BCE.
