At one of these meals with Gabrielle Chanel and Horst Bohrmann, Luchino Visconti met Dalí, but he remained more impressed and influenced by Jean Cocteau and Christian Bérard. In the Paris of 1934, everybody around Visconti seemed to be busy working creatively: Chanel collaborated with Dalí, Cocteau and Giorgi dze Balanchivadze (Balanchine) on ballet and theatre costums.
