Niccolao Nasoni presented the project for a bell tower in 1753, at the request of the Brotherhood of Clerics, the baroque building which would domintate the entire urban landscape of Porto. With the placing of the iron cross on the top, and the image of Saint Paul in the niche above the door, the construction was finished in July 1763. (Torre dos Clérigos, 2022)
