Kaaba (Mecca, 693): Abd Allah ibn al Zubayr demolished the structure constructed by the Quraysh tribe and had it rebuilt. It was once again destroyed by stones hurled by Hadjdjadj's catapults when he attacked Abd Allah in 692. At the behest of the Umayyad caliph Abd al Aziz, Hadjdjadj ibn Yousof had it razed down and once again rebuilt on the foundations set by the Quraysh. (Ghamidi, 2006)
