The Eastern Africa cheetah population is estimated at 2,102 mature individuals distributed across 14 subpopulations, 1,250 of which in the Serengeti/Mara/Tsavo/Laikipia landscape in Kenya and northern Tanzania: 184 in the Ruaha landscape (central Tanzania), 55 in the Katavi-Ugalla landscape (Tanzania), 47 in the Maasai steppe (Tanzania), etc. The global population is about 6,517.
