Siberian crane (definitive issue): The most aquatic member of its family, breeding and wintering in wetlands, shows a general preference for wide expanses of shallow fresh water, and with good visibility. It discriminates strongly in favour of sites that are infrequently visited by man. The population is estimated at 3,500-4,000, and the species is listed as critically endangered. (IUCN, 2018)
