The Post Office Department issued the stamp fifty years after Susan Anthony met with Roosevelt in Washington DC, on November 15 1905, about submitting a suffrage amendment to congress. The 19th amendment to the constitution guarantees all American women the right to vote and was ratified in 1920. It's known as the Susan B. Anthony amendment.
